Sunday morning in Thimphu
Today our children and grandchildren are arriving!
How excited and happy we are!
Tho just went shopping to fill up the fridge as 3 children of 7, 5, 1 ½
years need lot’s to eat!
Our son comes one week later, but our daughter and family should arrive today.
I love the week ends here,
Yesterday Isabelle brought us, Tho, Julia,Julie and me to
Neyfug Gompa where her teacher lives.
It is very near Paro, climbing on a rough road up to 3000M, overlooking Paro Valley, in the most charming and peaceful setting.
The 4th kings sister was on visit as
well. She told us that she lived since 6 years in a very remote valley with some nomad tribe. She has a small hut, nearly never comes down, loves the Peace the Quiet, the Simple and rough life up there. She found her teacher in a very simple Lama and meditates
up there under his guidance!
The young Rimpoche was very kind and friendly and we had very nice informal lunch and a joyful discussion with him about GNH and the buddhist practice. He is interested to collaborate with GNH centre as he
thinks what makes Bhutan such a special and happy country is all the wonderful teachers, like Padmasambhava, and the Buddhist teaching that penetrates all the society.
But he fears that Bhutan lives on the fruits of its past and if the
practice is not renewed it will become like any other country.
He showed us his temple that had been quite damaged by an earthquake and that has quite some incredible cultural treasures, wall paintings etc
visited a little retreat “hamlet” a bit higher up…so wonderful!
I was a bit sick tonight, first time really since I started my long journey…I hope I will feel better soon as Tho and me will drive to Paro to pick
up the little family.....
Ps The Family has arrived safely in Bhutan! THis is HAPPINESS....
And yes I feel much better tonight!!!
